After an extensive recruitment campaign, the Chamber is very pleased to report, that the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of Business South has been appointed.
The new CEO is Michael (Mike) Collins, who has most recently held executive leadership roles at the Southern District Health Board and Otago Polytechnic in Dunedin. He will take up his post with "Business South" in August.
The transitional Board is delighted to secure such a high calibre appointment. Mike is an exceptional people leader and strategist, with the abilities required to knit together two organisations with more than 290 years of collective history. His leadership experience, commercial acumen and collegial approach will be invaluable in forging a strong culture and a bright new future for Business South.
The Chamber team are excited by the appointment and look forward to working alongside Mike in establishing the new organisation supporting business across the region.
In other good news, "Business South" has been established as an Incorporated society and the Otago Chamber of Commerce will remain as an Accredited Chamber of Commerce until at least August 2021.
Further updates will be provided as we progress towards the merger with the Otago Southland Employers Association and a future that is "Better for Business".
