Contact Tracing Assistance
By The Ministry of Health | Posted: Sunday November 22, 2020
With ongoing outbreaks the government asks businesses to continue displaying the official NZ COVID Tracer QR code posters in prominent places at or near the main entrances of each of their premises. This will help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in New Zealand by supporting faster contact tracing.
Contact tracing is an intensive and robust process that involves personal one-to-one interviews to ensure that others who have been in close contact are isolated and tested. The NZ COVID Tracer app gives contact tracing a head start by helping people keep a record of where they have been. NZ COVID Tracer is not intended to replace the existing processes, but will help make contact tracing faster and provides a tool to alert people more quickly if they are potentially exposed to COVID-19.
Effective contact tracing will enable the Government to prevent any new outbreaks of COVID-19. The economic consequences of not supporting rapid contact tracing for local communities, as you will already be aware, is far more significant.
Businesses and organisations can get QR codes at qrform.tracing.covid19.govt.nz. If you have any problems getting QR codes or with the NZ COVID Tracer app, please contact the Ministry of Health by phone on 0800 800 606 or by email help@covidtracer.min.health.nz.
The most important thing we can do to assist the Government with managing the spread of COVID-19 is to use the Government Contract Tracing App.
The Government appreciates the efforts so far of all New Zealanders in supporting the response to COVID-19. Contact tracing is the next essential stage of keeping the team of five million safe.
