The Dunedin City Council are partnering once again with the Dunedin Dream Brokerage to deliver a commission for artists, funded by Te Ao Troa - Dunedins Environment Strategy. One commission is available of $5000 to support a project that bridges between art and the natural world.
2020 marks the third year this commission has been offered, established with the aim to support exciting new concepts from any discipline that actively involve the public in innovative new ways to relate to the natural environment.
Artists are invited to submit their proposals which engage with the natural environment and respond to the ambitions of Te Ao Tūroa. Applications close 21 February 2020.
Past projects include ‘Awa HQ’ and ‘What Grows Where You Live’ in 2017 and 4KT Elephants in 2019.
An advisory panel will select a project to be realised before June 2020, which will utilise vacant retail and public space in Dunedin city boundaries. The project will need to have a strong participatory impact and be active for at least three weekends. Dunedin Dream Brokerage welcomes diverse and fresh approaches to transforming empty property.
