Representation & Submissions

Representing Business at a Local Government Level

Every year the Chamber reviews and makes submissions on the annual plans for Dunedin City Council; Clutha District Council; Waitaki District Council; Central Otago District Council and the Otago Regional Council.  The Chamber also actively engages in the long term planning for each of these councils and makes submissions on any developments relevant to business in the region.

In addition to the annual and long term plans, the range of local council topics we have made submissions on have included:

  • Waitaki District Plan (Heritage Buildings)
  • Central Otago Economic Development Strategy
  • Central City Plan
  • Emergency Management Otago Draft Plan
  • Easter trading

Long Term Plans

The Chamber worked through the plans and pulled out the key issues for business and sought feedback through member surveys.  Based on the feedback received we have made submissions to the Dunedin City, Central Otago, Clutha District and Waitaki District Councils, as well as the Otago Regional Council.
