The Otago Chamber of Commerce is the region's leading business organisation in terms of facilitating international trade and plays an important role assisting both exporters and importers.

An Otago Trade Register

This Register details and promotes exporters, importers and international trade support services in the Otago region.

Certificates of Origin

Chambers of Commerce are recognised as independent and non-political organisations, and their verification of trade documents is a prerequisite to trade with many nations.

China FTA Certificates of Origin

The Otago Chamber of Commerce is authorised to issue Certificates of Origin under the FTA agreement with China.   

ATA Carnets

ATA carnets are arranged through The Otago Chamber of Commerce. It is a unified customs document allowing the temporary admission of goods into member countries without the necessity to raise custom bonds (e.g. for sending samples to overseas distributors) making trade and travel easier.

Letters of Introduction

The Otago Chamber of Commerce can arrange letters of introduction through the international chamber network.


Trade Missions

The Chamber regularly receives visiting diplomats and overseas trade missions, and will arrange appointments with members as appropriate. The Chamber may also assist in arranging trade missions from New Zealand to overseas markets.

International Trade Committee

Meets bi-monthly to discuss matters affecting the business community involved in international trade at local, regional and national levels.


Courses on "first steps to exporting" and export documentation.

A variety of seminars and functions keeping the business community up to date with international trade matters.

"A Guide to International Trade Documentation"
This publication provides an overview of the process of international trade documentation. It itemises and clarifies international trade documentation, and discusses available international trade resources.
