TRACMAP SUCCESS
New Zealand GPS guidance company TracMap has been successful in winning the Asia Pacific (APAC) final of the 6th Global Security Challenge held in Sydney in August 2011. They will now go onto London at the end of October to compete with 5 other regional winners for a prize of $250,000.
The award was for a newly released SAR system.
TracMap based in Mosgiel, is the largest provider of GPS technology to the agricultural sector in New Zealand, and recently won the NZ Hi-Tech Emerging Company Award. TracMap explained how its GPS tracking services can be successfully deployed by emergency services, defence and law enforcement. By equipping helicopters with TracMap’s unit, aerial rescue teams can reduce time and cost of aerial searches by 30 per cent.
